Welcome to little tree practice
Little Tree Practice is a private mental health practice for children, adolescents, young adults and their families.
We provide comprehensive assessment of children and young people in order to provide recovery from mental illness, resilience-building for families, and support for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism.
Dr Jennifer Harris, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, established Little Tree in 2018 to offer a welcoming space for children and teenagers who require specialist mental health assessment and ongoing therapy. Her 20 years of experience working in mental health informs Little Tree’s core values of patient-centred and strengths-based care.
Jordan Smith, Registered Psychologist, provides Autism and ADHD assessments and a range of therapies including, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
Becca Roberts, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, provides Autism and ADHD support as well as assessment and a Study Without Stress program as well as a range of therapeutic modes for developing resilience and increasing functional capacity.
Haylee Johnson, Registered Psychologist, provides a special focus on assessments - including Autism, ADHD, and functional capacity assessments, plus ongoing therapy - including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).
Our team members have worked in a variety of settings, across public and private mental health systems for children, adolescents and young people, and are committed to providing the highest standard of assessment and care. Please see individual clinician pages and sections on psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, ADHD, and Autism for more details.
We endorse Animal Assisted Therapy models and are part of a pilot program with Delta Therapy Dogs, being the first private practice to trial their therapy dog program for 18-25 year old patients. We also have Bailey, our resident therapy puppy, a Bernese Mountain Dog who helps to put patients and families at ease.
Little Tree Practice staff recognise that we live and work on Gadigal Land and we pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their ancestors, and the Elders past, present and emerging of the Eora and other First Nations across this country. We acknowledge the importance of connection to Land, culture, spirituality, ancestry, family and community for the wellbeing of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
Little Tree staff are dedicated to providing a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming safe space for all. We support the rights of LGBTIQA youth and adults and prioritise connection and compassion without political or ideological agenda. We support the rights of all patients and families in their choice of faith, culture, sexuality and gender. We reserve the right to maintain a zero-tolerance policy for aggression both verbal and physical in the workplace. We welcome written or verbal feedback. For our privacy policy and information on our complaints process, please contact Little Tree’s Practice Manager.
