Toddlers and Preschoolers may present new challenges for parents. Transitions to daycare or preschool, social interactions with new peers and adults can be times of intense joy and surprising stress, sometimes several times a day. Little Tree clinicians are able to assess young children in terms of their behaviour, their attachment and how they negotiate these new experiences.
Ongoing support for the development of parenting skills can increase parental confidence in how to manage challenging behaviours, refocusing on connection and warmth in parent-child interactions.
Individual clinicians at Little Tree utilise a range of approaches, including Circle of Security Parenting, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and supportive psychotherapy to reduce parental stress and find pathways to a better relationship between parent and child.
